While this training is applicable to all health and social care staff, it’s particularly useful for those working with people at high risk of suffering from strokes.
It’s important for health and social care workers to have knowledge and understanding of how to care for and support people who have had a full stroke or mini stroke transient ischemic attack (TIA). With this training, care workers can help reduce the impact of a stroke on service users and raise their quality of life.
As well as showing staff how to adequately care for those that have suffered strokes, it helps them spot the signs of impending stroke.
Reacting quickly to a suspected stroke can help minimise the effects. The longer it takes for someone to receive treatment after suffering a stroke, the greater the chances of disability afterwards, so it’s imperative that staff know what to look out for.
Our course is usually delivered over three hours and aims to give staff the tools to identify the signs of stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and other vascular problems. As well as this it equips them to effectively care for those that have suffered from strokes in the past.
During training, participants will learn the following:
On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of learning.
