First Aid Training Courses

All employers have a legal duty to uphold the health and safety of their staff. The most effective way to do this is by providing health and safety training for staff so they become aware of how best to keep themselves and their colleagues safe.

This qualification is designed for those learners either currently working or those returning or starting work and wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification in health and safety.

The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners to progress into further/higher level training and the qualification provides learners with an understanding of the main responsibilities of employees and employers with regards to health and safety. It also provides an understanding of how the workplace can affect health and safety.

What do our health and safety courses cover?

We offer both accredited Level 1 and 2 Health and Safety and in-house training. These courses seek to educate individuals on their responsibility regarding health and safety in the workplace. By doing so, employees can work together to ensure a safe environment and compliance with health and safety at work legislation.

Entry requirements

To register for this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements: be 14 years of age or above.

Level 1 Award in the Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace

This qualification gives learners a nationally recognised qualification in workplace health and safety and is ideal for those currently working, those just starting or those returning to work.

Assessment Method: Multiple Choice Question Examination

Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 4

Total Qualification Time (TQT): 4

To complete the accredited Level 1 Award in the Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace learners must complete the unit contained within the following mandatory group ""Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace""

Topics covered on the course include:

  • Understand main responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace
  • Understanding how the workplace can affect health and safety
  • Employer responsibilities
  • Employee responsibilities
  • Common hazards
  • Control measures
  • Classes of health and safety signage

Completion of this course allows learners to progress to the Level 2 award.

Level 2 Award in Health and Safety within the Workplace

Our RQF-accredited Level 2 health and safety qualification aims to give learners a knowledge of basic health and safety practices in the workplace.

This qualification is achieved by completing a 1-day classroom-based course. If required, it can also be completed via blended or distance learning. This qualification is designed to provide learners with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace.

The objective of the qualification is to:

  • Prepare learners to progress into further/higher level training
  • Support a role in the workplace

The qualification provides learners with an understanding in the responsibilities of employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, steps to a risk assessment and how they can reduce accidents, near misses and ill-health, typical hazards and controls in a workplace, common causes of accidents, near misses and ill-health

Assessment Method: Multiple Choice Question Examination

Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 6

Total Qualification Time (TQT): 10

To register for this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements: be 14 years of age or above

To complete the accredited Level 2 Award in Health and Safety within the Workplace (RQF) learners must complete the following mandatory unit ""Health and Safety within the Workplace""
